A $30M Series A for Light: building the global leader in modern ERP
Light is a company that embodies Atomico’s Seed strategy in action. At Atomico, we believe in building long-term relationships with founders long before they raise, creating the opportunity to back them ahead of true commercial traction when vision and execution align, and supporting European entrepreneurs on their journey from early on until they dominate on the global stage.
Our partnership with Light co-founder Jonathan Sanders began years before Light was founded. Even in those early conversations, it was clear he had the hallmarks of a generational founder: relentless ambition, a product vision that could redefine financial software, and the ability to execute at a pace very few can match. In less than 18 months, Jonathan, along with his co-founder Filip Kozjak and their team delivered what many considered impossible — a modern, unified alternative to NetSuite and the “Frankenstack” of point solutions.
When we led Light’s Seed round, the company had not yet scaled revenues but it had achieved something rarer: extraordinary product velocity, a category-defining vision, and a team operating with unmatched intensity both in the product and commercially. Since then, Light has only accelerated:
Transitioning from pilots to a full commercial launch in 2025.
Growing revenues 30x year-over-year.
Winning customers including Lovable, Sana Labs, and Legora.
Expanding ACVs and displacing legacy incumbents head-to-head, including NetSuite.
Customers reducing finance operations time by 84% after switching from legacy ERPs — true ROI.
We see Light as uniquely positioned to win from Europe, for Europe. Multi-entity accounting complexity arises much earlier for European companies than for US peers, creating a natural right-to-win. By solving this fundamental pain point, Light is enabling European entrepreneurs to scale globally without their ERP holding them back. The financial infrastructure becomes a growth enabler, rather than a bottleneck.
Equally important, Light is building infrastructure-first. This is a truly robust product, engineered with depth and resilience, not a fast-patched solution. Like many of the best European companies, substance comes first, then story. Where legacy systems fail at processing 1 million records, Light handles 280 million in under a second. Balance sheets generate instantly. This technological edge is why Light is winning head-to-head, not just on vision but on performance.
At the same time, Light is already proving itself globally. The company is securing US customers and competing successfully against both legacy incumbents and newer challengers. What began as a European right-to-win is translating into global leadership.
Much of this success comes not only from the product but from the culture Jonathan and Filip have built. Light is a truly meritocratic company, where backgrounds matter less than values, intensity, and commitment to the mission. The team is diverse, bringing together people from high-flying tech companies as well as non-traditional paths, united by a belief in building the financial system of the future. It’s a culture where responsibility is earned quickly, contributions are valued equally, and ambition is channeled into execution.
This combination — a generational founder, a mission-driven meritocratic culture, a European right-to-win, and global execution — is exactly what we look for when we partner with founders at Seed.
Together with Balderton, Entrée Capital, Cherry, Seedcamp, and angels such as Mario Götze, Thomas Wolf, Charles Songhurst, Joel Hellermark, and many more customers-turned-investors, we’re delighted to continue supporting Jonathan, Filip, and the team as they build the global leader in modern ERP — a finance platform that doesn’t just report revenue, but actively drives growth through AI-native insights.
