Growing up with entrepreneurship

I've been surrounded by entrepreneurs my entire life. My paternal grandparents built a car dealership which my parents scaled from 9 to 650 employees. My maternal grandparents owned a farm and restaurant — essentially a "farm to table" operation before that term even existed. At both, I helped out from childhood. Growing up in this environment, I absorbed the values of hard work, resilience, and the joy of creating something meaningful from the ground up. This background instilled in me a deep appreciation for the entrepreneurial spirit and the transformative power of building businesses that have a lasting impact.

Cooking up my own venture

Back in 2015, I was all in on the idea of bringing Poke bowls to Germany after seeing the success stories during my time in Southeast Asia. But like many ventures, it didn’t quite go as planned. The business didn’t take off, but the experience was priceless. I learned a ton about what it really takes to start a company and that journey gave me a deep respect for the ups and downs of entrepreneurship, and it’s something that shapes how I work with founders today.

It’s all about the people.

Before Atomico I was part of a team building a pre seed fund at Visionaries Club, working with over 50 founders. I learned it’s a privilege to work with founders who are not only solving real-world problems but are committed to building strong, purpose-driven teams. It’s vision, dedication, and ability to inspire others that often makes the difference between a good idea and a category-defining company.

European technology: the next global superpower

After moving around quite a bit — studying in Munich and Madrid for my Bachelor’s, Milan for my Master’s, and working in London and Singapore — I’ve seen firsthand the unique strengths that Europe has to offer. Europe is home to some of the world’s leading universities, making it a rich ground for cultivating the next generation of tech founders. Growth here is driven by a powerful blend of innovation, talent, and capital—everything a global superpower needs to thrive. I’m excited to support this thriving ecosystem with Atomico, helping to turn Europe’s potential into reality.

My roman empire: a good read

What truly gives me joy is a good book. My favourites span from Patti Smith's Just Kids and Seneca's Letters from a Stoic to Joshua Foer’s Moonwalking with Einstein. I’m always excited to hear about each founder’s top three!
