Dan Hynes to head up Atomico’s Talent team supporting our Portfolio Companies globally

Atomico has just hired Dan Hynes as our Managing Director for Talent. Dan, the former Director of Global Staffing at Skype join our growing Value Creation Team, a team dedicated to supporting our portfolio companies and sharing best practices.

Dan’s arrival means we now have a dedicated resource to help our portfolio companies recruit great people to support their growth. It is the people who make the difference between a good company and a great one, and ultimately industries are redefined by the raw talent of individuals. Dan has unrivalled global experience, and a unique network and knowledge working with high growth companies that have successfully scaled globally.

Prior to joining Atomico, Dan was responsible for Global Staffing for Skype driving it’s expansion from 600 to 2,000 in just over two years from Palo Alto to Moscow. Before Skype, Dan ran a variety of Staffing and Career Development teams at Google working in London, Dublin, Hamburg and New York for five years, and previously worked at Cisco Systems building executive, product and engineering teams as well as college recruiting.

Helping find great talent is the most frequent request we receive from our portfolio. Therefore having the capability to quickly find exceptional people, in both technical and more business-focused roles, anywhere in the world, dovetails perfectly with our ethos of adding value to our portfolio.

One of Dan’s first priorities will be to build a global network of talent search firms who can be called upon at any moment to help find great people, as well as helping companies with their recruitment strategy and processes in order to build a robust and sustainable capability — something Dan has done at several high profile technology companies.

Dan will be part of Atomico’s London team.
